Breast augmentation increases the size of the breasts. With the help of breast implants, augmentation also improves their shape, projection, and symmetry, and brings them into optimal alignment with all surrounding features.
Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Ben Brown, takes time to plan augmentation procedures to create the most natural-looking results, ensuring they complement your existing curves. He is pleased to offer a range of breast augmentation options, including composite techniques which utilize both implants and fat transfer, to meet the various needs of our patients. During your initial consultation, he will carefully assess your breasts and surrounding areas of your torso, and help you choose the best technique for your needs.
Am I too Old or Young or Augmentation?
If you are over 18, you are old enough for breast augmentation with fat transfer or saline implants. Once you are over 22, you become eligible for silicone implants. All three options, silicone, saline, and fat transfer, can produce remarkable results in ideal candidates.
While you must be at least 18 to undergo breast augmentation, the procedure has no upper age limit. Nor is there a specific age at which augmentation is a good idea for everyone. In fact, when you decide to have breast augmentation should have much less to do with your age than things like the possibility of future pregnancies which can impact outcomes.
Good candidates for breast augmentation are healthy, nonsmokers, and able to take time off to recover. If you meet these and other qualifications, whatever age you are when you decide to have breast augmentation is your best age. Determining this, however, requires a plastic surgeon willing to provide unbiased information about the benefits and limitations of the procedure.
Dr. Ben Brown is a thoughtful, attentive, and experienced plastic surgeon who believes patients deserve complete information about the procedures they are interested in. During your initial consultation, he will listen to your concerns, ask about your plans, carefully examine your breasts and their relationship to surrounding features, and help you decide if and when breast augmentation might be best for you.
