Breast augmentation is designed to improve the size, shape, and symmetry of the bust. Through augmentation, breasts are brought into ideal alignment with surrounding features, helping to produce a consistently appealing look to the entire frame. Often used as a stand-alone option, breast augmentation can also be combined with other procedures to address multiple concerns at the same time.
The most common method of augmenting the breasts is implant placement. With this option, breast implants are inserted – above or below chest muscle – to improve breast shape, size, and projection. There are many breast implant options, including implant type (saline or silicone), size, shape (round or teardrop), and more. This allows for the complete customization of the procedure and helps to ensure the most natural-looking results.
Fat Grafting
Another popular breast augmentation technique is fat grafting. With this option, fat is taken from a donor site on your body – typically from the thighs, abdomen, hips, or buttocks – and added to the breasts to produce a fuller and shapelier appearance.
There are several benefits offered by this method of breast enhancement including a completely natural look and feel and the sculpting of an additional area of the body. Fat transfer creates a subtle size increase and can be incredibly useful for ideal candidates.
Combined Approach
In some cases, both breast implants and fat grafting will be appropriate. This is particularly true in cases where there is insufficient breast tissue to cover an implant and in cases where cleavage is a focus. As with all breast augmentation options, this is not the right fit for every woman, but it is absolutely ideal for some.
