Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a surgical procedure in which fat is taken from one area of your body and carefully reinjected in the buttocks. BBL improves the size and shape of the derriere, creating ideal symmetry between the bottom and surrounding features. It can enhance clothing options, optimize lower-body contours, and create a fuller, softer, and more attractive look.

The fat for BBL is typically taken from the thighs, abdomen, and flanks. You must have enough fat in your body to support a BBL to be a candidate for the procedure. In addition, you must be:

  • A nonsmoker
  • In good health
  • Ready for a surgical procedure
  • Able to take time to recover
  • Willing to follow pre and postoperative instructions

Good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift need to have realistic expectations. BBL can vastly improve the appearance of your butt and create ideal contours in the donor area, but it may not be enough on its own to transform your appearance. Therefore, during your initial consultation, Dr. Brown will carefully assess your frame to help you determine if BBL alone or in combination with other breast and body procedures will be best for your specific goals.

What About Implants?

Buttock implants are another way to enhance the size and shape of your bottom. Implants are made of silicone and can create a more pronounced and augmented appearance than fat grafting alone. In some cases, fat grafting and implants are combined to help produce significant changes while maintaining a more natural look and feel. However, implants may need to be replaced every ten or so years.

BBL produces longer-lasting results than buttock implants, though some effort is needed to ensure continuously pleasing curves. Good candidates for BBL are willing to take steps to help preserve results through dietary changes when required, along with an increased focus on exercise that strengthens and tightens the glutes. During your initial consultation, we can provide additional information about maintaining results, along with other methods of buttock augmentation to help make sure you are selecting the best option for your body.
